Branding, Fashion, Illustration
These are some recent sweaters that I designed and had printed for some self promotion. The goal is to promote these designs in the hope that an entire label can be launched further down the track.
These designs will also be featured on t-shirts in the upcoming NEXT: The Future of T-shirt Graphics exhibition at the 2011 Outpost Project on Cockatoo Island, Sydney.

Fingers crossed but for now enjoy.

  • Stoli Vodka x Alex Lehours x The Bottom End
I was commissioned by Stolichnaya Vodka to paint a mural for them at The Bottom End Bar in Melbourne, Australia.
The brief was to create a piece that stayed true to Stolichnaya’s roots by creating a bold celebration of Russian tradition and taking inspiration from Russian prisoner tattoos.
I wanted to include everything from the brief while maintaining my own style.

  • The Black Keys
I was commissioned by Beyond The Pale Posters to designed a poster for The Black Keys 2012 Australian Tour.

The idea behind the poster was to combine my style of art with the bands raw blues rock sound of music while trying to create a piece very different to what has been done before.
As a result I came up with this vibrant and chaotic mash up. While trying to incorporate subtle elements that relate to the band (ie submarine) I also wanted that sense of randomness and the "unknown"

This particular poster is screen printed in 2 different colour ways. One is a limited edition print and both will be sold at the Newcastle show October 21st.

  • Buddy & The Gang: 50s Diner Mural
I was commissioned to create a 1950s American diner temed mural for a new cafe in Brookvale, Sydney.
I tried to include cliche elements that were a major feature of the 1950s culture, including a Chevy Bel Air, Buddy Holly, Jukebox and a roller skating waitress.

Aerosol and acrylics were used to create this piece.

  • Pandemonium Paradise
Pandemonium Paradise was my first ever solo exhibition. Held in conjunction with my artist representation, Just Another Agency in Prahran, Melbourne at the Just Another Project Space.

Pandemonium Paradise is an exhibition that highlights the cynical, raw and humorous characteristics that play a major role in my work. Bringing together elements of contrasting families, the show explores the subtle harmony, delicate balance and precise equilibrium between good and bad, calm and chaos, beauty and the ugly, Pandemonium and Paradise.

  • 1942 Darwin Commemoration Mural
This is a digital illustration mural I created in collaboration with graphic design (project art director) Barry Shackleton of No Hands Design and Claire Bell (Director) of Associated Advertising & Promotions. The Darwin Port Corporation comissioned us to create a mural 6m wide by 3m high to be printed on to large ACM panels and bolted to a wall on the Stokes Hill Wharf in Darwin. This mural was unveiled on 16/02/12 to commemorate the 70 year anniversary of the 1942 bombings by the Japanese in World War II. This mural will be a permanent fixture and pays tribute to those who were affected and lost their lives.

  • 3 Ring Circus
I was invited by Ambush Gallery to take part in a unique exhibition in Sydney.

Presented by Sydney’s GLASSHOUSE and aMBUSH Gallery, Living in a Glass House comprises the work of fifty contemporary street, graffiti and urban artists from almost all the major cities in Australia. Located across the three levels of thLiving in a Glass House presents the work of 50 Australian artists from around the country each of whom had the chance to create artworks on un-stretched canvas.

I was given a canvas measuring 2m x 1.2m to work on and used acrylic and aerosol. The concept behind my piece was the chaotic nature of life and how it relates to a 3 ring circus. With so much happening at the one time in so many different places, where do you look??

  • Secret Wars Sydney
I was invited by Monorex to take part in the Secret Wars competition in Sydney this year (2011). It was held at the Oxford Art Factory in front of about 300 people.

Secret Wars matches up different artists in one on one battles where each competitor has to "out-draw" his or her opponent. You have 90 minutes and a 2.8m x 2.8m canvas to draw what you like with only black makers and black paint.

Much like an MC battle you have to dis the other artist and at the end of the 90 mins a winner is decided by a panel of judges and the crowd vote. The winner then moves on to the next round held later this year and so on until they reach the final.

Unfortunately I did not win on the night but still had the time of my life!
